In this life we go through some good times and some bad times but God will work things out for our good.
I do not enjoy being given a book to read that is only partially written with no ending! It is a complete turn-off! Also you lose track until the next part is written or available!
Thank you very much for making it possible to read these books. Will be looking forward to another one soon.
The theme of this story hit me as hardships we sometimes have to go through, not just once but many times, in order to reach God's full blessings.

Elizabeth under went three devastating fires in order to find her true love with Eli.

A very good short story, easy to read.
It was very good
I love this book
Not every Amish person is perfect. The same goes for every person no matter their religion or upbringing. Our story
here is one such case found inside the Amish community. These young people are curious no different than any teenager.
They must decide what they want and accept the consequences.
The apple harvest was in and sisters Elizabeth (Liz), Emma and two of their brothers were headed off to the pond, the brothers for a bit of fishing, and the sisters just to relax. Liz asked friends and next-door neighbours, Caleb and Eli if they wanted to come and so the six of them headed off for a couple of hours before going home to bed. Liz had a crush on Caleb, which he knew, but he wasn’t ready to settle down yet. That night something dreadful happened; the Blank house caught fire, and Liz put herself in danger for what was, essentially, something trivial, and that resulted in a greater catastrophe.

As the book synopsis says, her actions that night caused the death of Caleb, her best friend, and hoped for, future husband. Unable to bear his family’s pain as well as her own, she took refuge in flight. In the Englisch world she worked and lived in an orphanage, teaching art to the children, until one fateful night history repeated itself. These two incidents were dreadful, but the author has written about them only briefly, although the reader can still feel the full horror of behind what is not written. The second fire sent Liz back to her home in Apple Creek.

Liz is welcomed home and, although everyone has been affected by the house fire and Caleb’s death, and twelve months has also changed people, she soon slots back into her former life. She and Eli, after initial problems, soon fall back into their easy friendship, until things change again.

This book is well-written and edited, with a good storyline that didn’t reach its potential. The story ended at 67% of the book, and apart from feeling cheated, I think the author has done herself a disservice. If 100% of the book had been used, the story could have been more developed and so could the characters. Liz was probably the most developed of the characters, but even so, I didn’t get invested in her, while Eli was a cardboard cut-out and everyone else were just names. I also think that the author used the same element once too often, especially in such a short story. I am also left puzzled by the title of the book as I couldn’t see a reason for it in the story.
